PRTG Is a Great Tool for many Organizations

주석: PRTG brings a lot of value to our organization and it works well to notify our Department immediately when something is down. We have a critical need for this. Some of the user interface and customization for alerts could be better though.

PRTG works on Mac or PC! I can set it up to alert me only on certain items in my org tree by priority, and it works 100% and I don't ever miss notifications.

단점:

Some alert settings could be more customizable or paused for a certain time period easier. The user interface could be setup a little cleaner and up to date.

PRTG helps to keep an eye on a real-time network in use for an event

주석: Tracking local network devices at an event, and with notifications when something is offline have greatly helped to reduce the stress of keeping an eye on device uptime. a local overview of the network has been a great tool

장점:

there's a lot to it, as such, it covers alot of ground. I'm sure there are templates and possibly scripting that I haven't explored or discovered, but what I have used for monitoring remote events has worked really well.

단점:

there's a bit of learning curve, and as time permits, I hope to eventually get to dig into it. An intro at maybe a simpler level would be nice, with maybe an incentive track to learn more in-depth usage

PRTG makes monitoring my network a breeze, keeping me informed and able to fix issues quickly.

The customizable dashboards and alerts make staying on top of my network's health a cinch.

단점:

The learning curve was a bit steep at first, and I wish there were more pre-built sensor options.

PRTG is a great option to monitor your IT assets

주석: The experience has been good in general. Once you get everything done in terms of configurations and custom settings, you basically need to keep watching the dashboard and your email for the notifications.

I like the interface, which is very versatile and allows you to customize the views that are more important to you. I also like to receive notifications when something happens so we can quickly react and fix.

단점:

Some of the sensors require very complex configurations and that sometimes prevents us to get the most from PRTG. The system is so complete that it also has too much settings for each sensor which sometimes makes the work of configuring them very exausting.

BEST NETWORK MONITOR

주석: Very great Experince especially for Network Monitoring and Tracking of the Different Network Devices and Sensors.

1. Easy Access and Management of a large number of Both LANs and WANs on just a single window. 2. On-premises installation for full control over the company's data, configuration & updates. 3. Free Version of the Software with most of the core network management tools with its limitation being that it offers only 10 Sensors.

Sensor Limitations: The Free Version of the Software is limited to only 10 sensors

Proactive Network Management Made Easy

주석: The overview that PRTG provides about network health and performance is incredibly important in detecting and resolving a possible security threat at its quickest. This proactive approach reduces our downtime a great deal and increases our overall security posture.

PRTG really excels at providing detailed network visibility. Customizable dashboards and real-time alerting enable strong security. The way this integrates with other existing systems, with deep reporting, makes my proactive management of risk much easier.

단점:

While PRTG is feature-rich, the initial setup may be a little time-consuming. It would be nice if there were more streamlined configuration options for quicker deployment.

The best SNMP monitoring software for complex networks

Reliable partner for IT Monitoring

주석: Good reliable and stable partner for IT monitoring. We have been using it for years now.

Wide range of available sensors. Easy setup.

No probes for linux systems - although it is still possible to monitor linux devices.

Best Monitoring Tool for the money

주석: We have a very good experience with the Network Monitor and have recommended to some colleges.

장점:

The ease of setup and configuration and also how to get alerts in case of an issues.

단점:

More option can be added but overall, we are happy for what we were looking for.

Highly Customizable and Very Capable Systems Monitor.

주석: Saved our bacon numerous times. Was able to monitor just about everything I could throw at it. Very satisfied with the performance and options of the product.

So many aspects to monitor - SSL Certificates, Running Services, individual SQL tables.With SNMP, you can add anything that supports that protocol. I Added Printer toner levels.Integrates out of the box with Active Directory, for single sign on purposes. Fine grained security options. An API to easily add new systems.The free version is full featured, limiting only the amount of sensors (100) you can run.Built in Integration with other well known systems like Meraki, and Sophos.

단점:

It's a great product that does what it does every well. Nothing really comes to mind. Perhaps too much customization.

A great product if you just need a simple and free monitor or Enteprise Leve one

주석: I currently use the free product where I work now, but in the past have used the enterprise product for a larger oragnization.

There are a lot of different things you can monitor, prebuilt templates and even custom things that you can build. Having a free product helps a lot to see if it's what you need in your environment.

단점:

I wish AD logon integration was included in the free version instead of 1 shared account.

Great Monitoring Tool. Excellent with alerts and notifications.

Easier Ui, features and unlimited customization for any network Engineer. Monitoring our network has never been easier and exciting.

It makes me have a hard time without using prtg.

Almost 2 Year with my favourite Monitoring Tool

주석: I've been training some new persons in our company to use PRTG, and they are using it like pros.It is a great tool to use, today we have more than 35 thousand sensors monitoring devices.

PRTG is an easy-to-use monitoring tool, it is easy to get going, To set up a monitoring environment is easy, just deploy a core server or a remote probe connected to the core server.The auto discovery is a great tool to get the monitoring of devices fast.

단점:

Sometimes the auto discovery tool affect the application performance.The Map Designer should be better with more options to personalize the maps.A Grafana extension should be implemented.

PRTG - I rely on this more than Windows or Linux themselves

주석: I do love this software and my job would be 10x more difficult without it. The 24/7 monitoring, the vast array of sensors available, the maps that can be made available without need for a login, and along with the historical data that is available make this a must use piece of software. It's worth the time even if all you can use is the free 100 sensor version.

I can monitor just about everything I need to monitor. Most are via the built in sensors but the options for custom sensors takes it to the next level.

단점:

The price is hard to get past. Smaller shops would have a hard time validating the cost. The interface is can be overwhelming (not sure how to avoid that) and it's frustrating that it's not possible to multi-select objects on a map and move them all at the same time. Instead you have to move them one at a time which can become very tedious.

Affordable simple server monitoring

주석: Given the price, PRTG offers a good bang for buck. For this price we cannot expect the features of some of the higher end monitoring solutions.

The basic features work as they should. I have never had any SNMP issues with getting results from my devices. Also I have never had any false positives for these sensors. The architecture makes it easy to deploy. No agent, just a probe which sends data to a core server.

단점:

If you want to go out-of-the box there is a big chance of false positives. Deploying custom sensors is very labor-intensive work.
