The default tool for tech companies for a reason

장점:

It's now the default for most tech companies. User experience is smoother than all similar tools.

단점:

The search function doesn't quite live up to expectations. Exacerbates bad communication practices.

No longer worth it

주석: Good for a while but the product only really got worse with time. The massive price increase meant we could no longer trust them with our money or data so we left and we don't regret it at all.

장점:

A lot of products integrate easily with Slack. As a replacement for Skype it was quite good.

단점:

Rug-pull price increase forced us to migrate. We found Zulip which ended up being better in practically every way.

Great tool that allows us to practice what we preach when working with our clients

주석: My company is small and started using it this year. The rollout has been smooth in some cases and bumpy in others. The biggest problem I run into is other users not knowing how to use it. However, as we train each other and our clients, it gets a bit easier everyday and is incredibly.

장점:

There are many things i like about it! -How many apps it integrates with -That I can manage projects both internally and externally and communicate freely -All of the templates are helpful and good quality - many of them are perfect right out of the gate -That you can communicate via threads so the main message board remains clean and not bogged down with a ton of back and forth -That you can choose which parts of threads you want to post to the comment board if needed. -The ability to create workflows

단점:

There are a couple of things I don't like: -With workflows, you can't create conditional steps. For example, if I want to create a form where the questions change based on the answer to the prior question, you aren't able to do so. You essentially have to make additional workflows/forms for each. -It gets a bit messy, even if you're great at setting up notifications, channels, communicating through it etc., it can get out of control quickly. Plus, you also have to rely on other people's knowledge on how to use the tool. If someone you're communicating with doesn't know Slack well, you can't be sure if they'll understand how to check for message, have proper notifications etc.

Yay for Slack

주석: I use it everyday all day and it is wonderful....it meets all of my needs.

User Friendly, very easy to understand and has alot of integrability with other software.

I use the web version as i feel the desktop version is clunky and not as fast

Slack - Necessary Work From Home Tool!

주석: My team has been using Slack for a long time (well over 5 years by now) and has never explored an alternative because of the ease of use, reliability and integrations available.

It allows easy contact for work from home teams to stay in sync. It also has a lot of integrations so it can be used as a way to monitor software outages, etc.

단점:

It can be a little disruptive if you have a job that requires focus, but that is an issue with any form of communication.

Great software for communicating.

주석: I used it on an everyday basis, and it was great. The messages come through right away and I never missed a message while at work.

It is very easy to use, the set up is very intutive. You can have multiple chats and it is easy to see which chat has new messages.

단점:

I honestly don't have any. I loved using Slack for team communication.

Everyone Should Use Slack

주석: Overall exprerience is fantastic. We never have issues with the product. It's never down or not functioning the way that it should.

장점:

It's always evolving. There are new features each quarter that make the tool a one stop shop for internal communication.

단점:

Nothing. I like everything about Slack. There isn't one thing that they could do to improve.

A good messaging app, except for the language barrier and messages older than 90 days

주석: It is a good application for messaging, but I think it is not sufficient for general use and general evaluation.

A nice application with a simple user interface and the ability to create multiple channels and assign people to channels.

단점:

The workspace is displayed to all users in the language it was created in. For example, I have to use German Slack for a project we are working on together with the Germans, but I have to use English Slack for the workspace I created for my own team. Instead, it should be opened in the language of each user. It is also very illogical to ask for a subscription to be able to see messages older than 90 days. Why is there a free version if I can't see my conversations older than 90 days?

I like that it is easy to edit a message. I like the ease of posting anonymously. I also love that there are loads of groups. Finding a link within chat is also good, so I would say overall their search functionality is good.

The vast number of emoticons can make it look less business-like at times.

주석: As a communication tool, the overall quality is excellent, with no need to worry about bugs. It offers various features, and it’s up to you how to make use of them. By integrating with desired apps, we could automate certain tasks within Slack. For large organizations, Slack alone can serve as an assistant, making it an excellent tool for time management.

I liked that members who joined a channel could freely invite other members.

I found it challenging to understand the Connect feature because the rules seemed unclear when it involved admins.

Slack for the past 6+ Years has been a reliable tool for instant messaging, team collaboration, large file sharing and audio conferencing. The newly updated feature (VC) enables me to schedule and join corporate meetings from anywhere over the internet.

Slack is the backbone tool for BIM and live chat in my organization. What I like most recently is the implementation of video conferencing capability.

단점:

Never have I experienced a bug on Slack for nearly half a decade now.

PERFECT for collabing with large teams!

주석: I have used Slack for almost 7 years to manage my team of over 100 contributors. We have group channels as well as team channels for certain teams (writing, editing, design, etc). It's perfect for group collab, one on one convos and group segmentation. I absolutely love it!

- Ability to have dedicated channels for certain topics - Ability to have both public and private channels - Option to create custom emojis (this is just fun) - Easy to invite teammates - Easy to @mention teammates and tag them when appropriate - Excellent for team collaboration - Supports video calls

단점:

Slack's free plan used to save messages for months now I believe after 90 days the old messages are deleted. This is annoying because we have group rules we have to repost often. That's the only downside.

Slack for Superstitious, Fabulous and Fantastic UC

주석: Slack is basically for cloud communication, file sharing, documents generation and management.

How it has simplified online training via rich full HD videos, audio and web conference services. Altruistic and impressive architecture with pre-built templates and customizable UX, UFI and GUI design. Available across all Internet enabled devices. Support an excellent and exceptional file sharing.

단점:

At times, in areas of poor network coverage, seamless connection may be interrupted.

What I Contemplate ‘bout Slack

Slack for nearly three years has been a remarkable tool for sending and receiving DMs. Mobile application on my iOS works perfectly lit that I do not have to shift to cloud apps.

단점:

Thanks to the vendor for ensuring zero issues on Slack for over two years that I have been using this tool.

All You Want to Improve Productivity via Team Communication Internally & Externally

Slack is used across all departments in my organization. I like that it unify teams in one place via unlimited communication channels. It has video conferencing tool which allows us (teams) to conduct online meetings.

단점:

I implemented Slack in 2021 and I have never experienced challenges at all.

Slack as an excellent work team manager

주석: My overall experience with Slack was very good and I would recommend using it. Having had the chance to use both the free version and the paid version, I think that by making the small changes regarding the access to the history of old messages it would be the definitive platform for companies and team management. On the other hand, with full access through payment, you have full control of everything and no complaints at all.

장점:

For me, the best thing about Slack is the possibility of highlighting important messages, being able to make notifications such as wake-up calls and being able to gather important files for a work team within the same chat as a team. In addition to this, as an employee I appreciate the possibility of rotating between the status of “available, absent and unavailable” even while inside the platform.

단점:

The worst of Slack or rather its areas of improvement are in the limitations of the free experience, such as the search for files and messages that have limitations to be no more than 6 months old (I think there should not be limitations on the search for messages but perhaps keep it in the archives unless they are super important files marked by the team leader as indispensable).

Great Product, Highly Recommend for Workplaces

주석: Overall Slack offers a great user-friendly program. It offers a lot of customization and organization tools such as sorting your channels, setting reminders, making lists, and many more! It is a great program to use especially in a WFH environment to help keep you updated and in touch with everything!

User-friendly in the app and web browser. I love the customization features and the ability to sort out channels within your screen for a more organized experience.

단점:

Slack is a great program. I miss the split screen feature where you could have 2 channels/chats open on the same page at the same time. Please bring it back!

A must have tool for running a business

주석: Overall, Slack is awesome and a perfect tool for every organization to run their business because of its user friendly interface(non technical user can use it very easily), its streamlining feature for enhancing teamwork and productivity.

장점:

One of the biggest pros about slack for me is how easy it is to find the history of conversation and files shared using the search bar. It also has that user friendly interface meaning you don't need tutorials to earn how to use slack.

단점:

Since, slack has that streamline feature, work can be streamlined but you might be overwhelmed by all the notifications/messages you get from the channels and threads. and also when i am in a place with low reception, it takes a time to receive message(good internet is a must).
